I'm not saying that there were not a number of passive postings. I'm saying that I'm not use to visiting the web site or regularily reviewing the BBS or even reading the quarterly magazine until I have spare time. Typically for the accounting conventions I attend, I receive a separate mail announcing the event and that is the pre-registration information. The mailing is short and only covers the convention registration. I've never failed to recognize that type of notice. This is a more active form of notice that happens to work well in most instances and should be considered by the club if the goal is to increase attendance.
PS: I'm not upset at this point. I just think that we should consider an active rather than a passive notification and registration system.
