was just that he wishes he knew better what he needed to do for the preregistration. I dont think anyone is saying they dont like the goodies, or that they have any problem with pre-registering...but rather they were stating the pre-registration should be both pushed and explained. The "i just didnt know" has come up a number of times here in the past month. I think that is valid and we the club should say: Hmm, okay, good point, next year will will try to make it clearer and try to put it all forth in a way that there is no mistake.
I have gone to a number of medical conventions every year for the past 20 years and there is AlWAYS a hefty price break for pre-registering. It is without a doubt EXTREMELY important to have the preregistrations. I think by stating the benefits of it will only help us to get more to do it. I also think if the board is thinking about raising the price of admission (i dont know if they are or not) then they should make it a price break for pre-registartion as well.
I have heard quite a few people complaining that they had just missed the deadline because they werent aware. There were even a few that almost missed the deadline for the hotel pricebreak. Sure...Its everyones responsibility to look through the website for the convention. Sure they always had the opprtunity to ask. But hey--we're all opn the same side here...so maybe we need to make a few posts as we approach the deadlines just to help everyone out. After all-I hear that handling chips has a sedating effect on some, so they may need the extra reminders.
Just a few rambling folks!
