Howdy,
Ok, now that I have your attention here's a thought from a newbie.
Today I purchased a blacklight to look at my Luxor chip (which I didn't know about) and to examine my new Spirit Mountain chips from the weekend.
I figured I'd scan the rest of my chips, becasue I didn't know which ones were treated and which ones aren't. That's when it hit me: Alternate Light Source.
This is a technique used in several areas of study, including law enforcement to exmaine crime scenes and evidence. Basically, the human eye sees colors as the same when sometimes they really are not. Some substances under normal light are almost invisible. Women are better (proven) at distinguishing color variations than men.
I submit this: Get a KNOWN true chip and a suspect chip under an Alternate Light Source and see if they show up the same. Just because someone can dup the color (in the normal spectrum) doesn't mean they can dup the actual material. Different substances reflect light in different ways.
Just a thought.
