... of the Hard Rock discussion so far, mostly because I don't really collect Hard Rock chips. But, I would like to reply to some of the comments in your post.
>> I'm being referred to as "the kid" (36 years old) ....
I'd take that as a compliment if I were you. Compared to most of the old fuds on the board (myself included), you are a kid (barely older than my #1 son!).
>> It sounds like you guys are upset at me for this chip getting such high bids.
I think most of the dissatisfaction is aimed at the Hard Rock. I think you're more like "collateral damage" than the real target of most people. I agree with those who have said "good for you" in having the good fortune you've enjoyed with this auction.

This was the real motivation for me to reply to your post. Please don't judge the CC>CC by what a small minority post on the bulletin boards. The vast majority of the club members are great people -- kind, generous to a fault and friendly both in person and online. Membership does have other benefits as well, but the friends you will make if you join are worth every penny of what it will cost you. I became a life member for that very reason.

I'll make you a deal. You join the club and if, at any time during the first year you're a member, you think that membership in the club was not worth the membership fee, let me know and I will repay that fee in full.
