I am not suggesting that everyone should ship before a chip clears, like Larry I just object to the attitude of many Ebay sellers that they are somehow the ones at risk and because they are so honest the buyers have no risk.

That doesn't mean that I believe that Sellers shouldn't take steps to protect themselves. I would not advise sellers to ship expensive items before a check cleared unless they knew the buyer (for example a fellow CCGTCC member or a repeat customer).
