One thing that no one has mentioned is, there are about 10 different ways to count cards. Actually, there are many many more, but there are about 10 systems that are at the top of the list.

Some systems start at 0 while others start at a + or - depending on various factors to include number of decks, early or late surrender, insurance, the dealer hitting or standing on soft 17 and other things.

The best advice I read in this thread was to learn Basic Strategy and visit the websites listed.

Some will call it WORK to get it down, but I find the thrill of doing it doesn't even compare to work.
