Show me a case where the American Trial Lawyers ever actually supported meaningful Tort reform or limitation of liability
I won't speak for ATLA as I am not even a member. But I can't think of any reason to impose limitations of liability (assuming by that you are talking about caps on damages). And as to "meaningful Tort reform" I suspect you and I will disagree about what that is.
>The ideas of personal responsibility & "accidents happen" are not in the vocabulary of many lawyers.
Actually you are making the argument against personal responsibility. You are suggesting that when a person causes an injury to another they should not be held responsible.
as far as "accidents happen" when somebody calls me and tells me they were walking through the woods when a gust of wind blew a branch into their face I say "accidents happen."
But when they tell me they suffered an injury due to the negligence of another person, I say that the person who caused the injury should compensate them. That is personal responsibility.
