Because Washington State,(along with many others) has not restricted Malpractice awards, OB/GYN Doctors are refusing to deliver babies here! There was a piece on the nat'l news yesterday about a woman in Bisbee, AZ, who had to drive many miles to a delivery facility because local doctors would not deliver babies. Fortunately, she had a healthy child even though it was delivered on the way.
