In Ontario the Employers pay a tax called the EHT (Employers Health Tax)this is based on a percentage of the companies payroll, this coupled with Gov't , Federal and Provincial tax transfers allows ALL to have FULL access to proper health care. This is not a union thing every company pays. It works quite well and if you get sick you don't have to worry. Take this past week, we spent Monday to Wed in a private room to have my wife deliver Caleb. He was in a special care nursey because of some narcotics that were used during delivery and he wasn't breathing when he was delivered. With all the extra attention I still can walk out with out receiving a bill. Do we pay higher taxes in Canada? you bet!! Is it worth it for the peace of mind ? Without a doubt. Health care reforms need to be the biggest issue the US faces in the years to come. Everyone needs access to proper health care not just the rich!!!!
