You are absolutely right John! I made the offer but based on HIS assurance that the chip was indeed valued that high price (equal to my coin). Remember I said "I don't know what these are worth", he had the opportunity to take what he wanted (he took the BIG ONE).
Many times retired people have 'services' done for them that they believe the value to be much higher and are therefore duped. Who has the greater responsibility? The one basing a decision on poor or false information or one supplying false or misleading information?
I still believe this guy is a preditor, not someone who just stumbled on a good offer. He saw an opportunity to grab my wallet (unfortunately for him it was just bait).
