While reading how this is transpiring I have this simple belief.
If you go through the trouble and expense of buying a scanner or digital camera and using that as an investment to improve the response to your auctions, and some other person comes in and uses your investment to make money for him/herself, aren't they getting some unfair advantage at your expense? What if they take one of your scans and place an auction for the same chip that you are currently auctioning and siphon away bidders that could be advancing the bids on your chip? What if the seller doesn't really have the chip and is trolling for marks by using YOUR image? Lastly, the auction in question was won for more than $730. If the seller didn't have a photo to use for his/her auction, they may not have gotten so high of a bid. Therefore, from a purely business standpoint the seller gained financially from Randy's auction and scan and his financial expenses in the equipment etc.
It is fine if someone wants to gant permission and all but in this instance, There was no consideration given to Randy. In fact, the photo was STOLLEN and CLAIMED as property of the seller when he/she put their name on it. This is the height of disrespect and dishonesty if you ask me. I am a strong believer that if someone shows any dishonesty in the process of their auctions, even if it is just by using someone elses scan without permission, than the integrity of the entire auction and business of that person is suspect.
