I decided that diplomacy was the best way to handle this. Although I feel fairly secure that I have every right to display those chips on my site without needing permission to do so, I temporarily took down the link and sent them an email explaining what I was doing. I also pointed out that most casinos encourage this type of activity and that nothing sinister is going on.

I do have a sense of how they might have felt if they had no knowledge of chip collecting and all of a sudden someone showed them my site. They probably just had a knee-jerk reaction and I feel confident that when they have time to stop and think about it they will give me their blessing.
