Great response, but doesn't it contradict the original information about "the report" that started the whole barage of messages?

Remember the report was going to be witheld until it could be published inthe club Mag. for all. Now it appears, the report will never be published because of possible legal ramifications.

I think I must have read over 100 messages and after all the debate, attacks, opinins, counter responses, and shouting, I've learned almost nothing about the actual issues and chip repairs.

Personally I was baffled trying to understand why a report would be witheld from online members, because some folks don't have computers? Getting information out, as fast as possible, by whatever means, is the goal. Not sweeping it under the rug until the cleaning lady comes in 90 days.

If the BOD is worried about naming names (and possible because the information hasn't been verified yet) how about the old tried and true Freedom Of Information Act methods our Govt. uses. Get out the big black magic marker and cover the portions with names. At least we can be a part of what's going on and have the best information about the remanufactured, repaired, counterfeit, and restored brass core chips.

Notice the four versions above, because the chips are not all the same. Some are outright fakes, some are restored, some are altered to remove cancelation holes, some are repaired.

The fakes are the big problem, by producing colors that never existed. Restoration is much less of an issue. Repairs are ??? Removing a hole and re-coating doesn't seem very ethical.

Lets not forget the person who has done this work, has co-operated fully, unlike some others who bought and sold the chips. He has also agreed to stamp them with a "W" in the future. I can compliment him on his up front attitude in addressing the situation.
