... for everyone who loves this hobby. The real misfortune is, there will be repercussions to his resignation and we'll never really know how much we've lost because of things which simply never happen.
Marty is a thinking man and has been an ameliorative force on the board. He has also been in the process of working on many ideas that would benefit the club and its members.
Marty is also a calm, reflective individual, not given to precipitous acts or knee-jerk emotional responses. I'm sure this was not a sudden, impulsive decision, and you can bet that it was not easily reached.
Marty and Neal Silverman (it's hard to think of one without thinking of the other) are two of the hardest working people in our hobby, both as officers of the club and as founders of Chequers.
It is a damn shame that the intolearance and ingratitude of some has driven Marty to this decision.
I, too, would like to see him reconsider. Sadly, I have little expectation that he will.
