...and I've read in some cases too much plastic is replaced and camouflages the drill hole (but to some this is fine; like restoring an antique auto with a drill hole in the fender).
If you were to study some of the private sales auctions you will notice some estimated values that have been published for brass and aluminum slugs (new and unmolded).
I don't know what the Harrah's pieces would have realized in one auction because they were withdrawn from the sale.... but they do look quite nice in the photos, though, and I can understand a collector's interest in the pieces.
Their estimated value (1993) was published at $50-$60 each.
There's a lot to learn in our hobby.... and since most of us are students of gambling chips, we should try and read (and retain ) all we can.
