Hiya James. The $1000 Chip Collector I mentioned was actually a series of three individuals who dropped in here at TheChipboard at the onset of ICG's announcement of their plans for our hobby. What was amazing was the utter similarities in their tales of trying to buy a $1000 chip. All three stories were THE SAME! All ended by using the same reason that third party grading was to be the boon of chip collecting because new buyers would be "comfortable" buying $1000 chips. "Comfortable" was used in the same context in ALL three posts by these individuals (? ). Only one of these folks included a mention of a known chipper who was a friend and did us the courtesy of detailing the transaction and posting a scan of the chip he regretted buying. The other two complained without detail and made the standard boilerplate pitch for grading and then dissapeared. Apology in advance because I'm not going to search the archives on this. My reference to these guys being agents for slabbers is about 33% in jest and 66% serious.

As you know James, I'm certainly not a high-ender but but I enjoy being in a hobby where we have an opportunity to acquired rare and inportant chips. I'm certain with your years of experience you counsel all your buyers on good deals, good chips and the vagaries of the casino chip market.
