You may want to check out the "GUN" Numbering System which has two componants: (a) the Base Number, whch is to be used in everyday descriptions of the gaming instrument, and (b), the Extended Number, which is to be used when cataloging the gaming instrument in a larger world of gaming instruments.

The GUN System is designed to include ALL FORMS OF GAMING DEVICES, including chips, checks, tokens, jetons, poker chips, imitation chips, advertising chips and several other devices used throughout the world.
