Another event Steve missed was the Chippers Poker Tournament! A few more with 21 entries this year and the local, "Doc" defending his title from last year. Beside the club members there were some chip-friendly local residents to fill the field, more sign of Jim Fredrickson's good work. Both the fine Chinook Winds Dealers we had were collectors! Anyhoo, missed the final (of two! ) table this year, winning only one pot, getting pocket jacks creamed in successive hands and looking at 8-3 on many occassions. Hold 'em/Seven card stud format this year with Mel Jung 5th, G. Trimble 4th, and David Moore the top CCGTCC member at third. Local lady Jewel Lansing brought many years of poker experience to the table but didn't get the cards to fend off whppersnapper winner Dean Smith, a Chinook Winds regular. $270 and a framed collection of Chinook Winds chips for the winner.
