Mark:
You insinuate that boardmembers or volunteers received the remaining chips. I gave you two names to contact at the Hard Rock as to whether there were any remaining and if not, where did they go. I take offense because you place a thought in collector’s heads that there was something going on.
Were there extras? I believe so but fewer than 30. Did OUR members get them? Don't think so because Krista Tye, director/manager of the retail store was VERY specific in her instructions to staff about letting them out. I believe I know what happen to them but after our members redeemed the coupons, it was up to the Hard Rock to do what they pleased with the chips.
What you guys don't know is that this project almost died. We requested an oversized chip and 1000 chips. Which got widdled down to 750 and finally 500. Artwork was revised but funding was not approved. Hard Rock marketing didn't want to pay for it but Krista stuck her neck out for us and paid for it out of her budget. She didn't have to do anything. Would be nice to thank her the next time your in there instead of ME hearing a barrage of b_tching from collectors who GOT something for free!
How do I know this? Because I'm the one that made the chip happen. I'm the one that had the coupons printed and punched so counterfeits couldn't be made. And once again I'm working on getting another chip produced for our convention. This one will cost you though.
