Michael,
As Jim posted below, the chips were made in 1939.
7 colors, 4 colors 300 each and 3 colors 200 each.
Strange order. One would assume they were roulettes but why two different amounts on the colors? No ones name or address on the card. The chips were delivered to LV. As with some other manfacturers records, this does not answer all questions and creates others.
The Hacienda chip in my post below was delivered to MO. I traced names on other records from the Portland Card Co records and found the chips went to a NLV casino and found the man that ordered them. I have since found evidence they went to a Texas illegal casino after they were used in NLV.
Most of the men that leased space in early LV casinos were all intertwined with illegal casinos elsewhere. Most LV property owners did not want their names associated with these people, hence all the initial chips proved to be from old LV casinos. I have found their names all over the US tied to illegal operations. I have found other chips shipped to the lease holders that were forwarded to illegal operators.
I do not know what to think about the Apache chip information. It is not conclusive. I wish I had time to dig into it. I think it would make for a thrilling hunt and a good column.
I guess I have to concede to the possibilty of an Apache Casino and their chips.
