Mr. P,
I know nothing about the chips, except what was in the article that I quoted. All I know, personally, is that my husband and I own a matchbook cover that includes the words "Apache Casino", we have 2 postcards and a print (forgot the print in the earlier post) that have signs saying "Apache Casino"
If we had a scanner, I'd scan them for you, but we don't.
Based on some of the things you've written on the board, and "The Perlwski Files" on Andy's site, I have great respect for your opinion, as well as Gene's. HOWEVER I still have the postcards, the print, and the matchbook cover that say "Apache CASINO".
We have an Apache Bar swizzle stick that came from an estate sale in Vegas along with one from the Mission Bar (located across the street from the Apache) and Al's Bar (111 South First Street, Las Vegas). It's possible that the Apache and Mission Bar swizzles didn't come from Vegas, because they aren't marked. Circumstances indicate that they did come from Las Vegas.
By the same token, the Apache Chips might not have come from Las Vegas....I'm not disputing that. It's hard to prove a negative, but until someone PROVES that the Apache DIDN'T have a casino, I will continue to believe the evidence of our postcards, print, and matchbook.
Respectfully,
Pam
