Okay, one more post and I'm going back to bed!
In the early 80's, I was living in Dallas. I was 19 at the time, and I heard an ad on the radio for a "Las Vegas night" party being held at a night club called Monopoly's Park Place. So I went. It was the first time I played at actual table games, even though the money wasn't for real.
I'm not sure what I was thinking at the time, but I stuck these two chips in my pocket. My first time at collecting chips! They're just cheap mermaids with a decal stuck on them, but they have a history.
As it turns out, I had gone to high school with one of the dealers. He told me that the company that was doing the party was looking for help. He introduced me to the boss. I learned the games, and became a dealer. Nearly twenty years later, I'm still dealing!
I just found these chips last week in a box in the garage. Wow! What memories!
BTW, I spoke to Katie tonight. She says Hi to everybody!
