Archie,
A LOT of Paul-Son releases over the last couple of years have what you described on the surface of the chips. As you might or might not know the chips are made in Mexico & whatever they are doing down there is causing this. Some releases are worse than others. If a release is bad then ALL of the chips have marks on them, not just a few. I have said something to the Paul-Son people on 3 different occasions & nothing changes. I along with Pete Rizzo have also pointed it out on this Board in the past without much response. Dave Harber, Chris Colangelo & myself were looking at the Aerosmith chips when we were getting them at the Hard Rock & these were chips that JUST came out of the boxes from Paul-Son. We could not find one chip without scratches or gouges on it.
Even though these chips are like this they ARE still "new" & "uncirculated" having come right out of the boxes from Paul-Son. As for "mint" I never use the word & never will.......If you are going to have anymore A.C. releases which I know are seldom these days AND they are Paul-Son chips you can plan on seeing more of what you saw on your Hooters chip.......Andy - Las Vegas
