As a recipient of one of those porno sets, I can verify what Chuck said.
In my opinion, which may seem contrary to some, considering the fact that I have championed against collectors trying to profit from their fellow club member/collectors, I put the new chip service dealers in another catagory.
They are dealers and make no bones about it. They are doing us all a favor--providing us out of towners a great service, while at the same time supplementing their income. The prices they charge are both acceptable to their customer and themselves alike. In most instances, they are able to buy the new issues without much problem which is why they can sell them to us at the prices they do.
They are NOT however, expected to sell these chips to us for the same price if they have to go out of their way or to exert more time or effort to purchase their chips, such as the Harrah's chips---the current topic of discussion.
Yes, I would love to have one of those Harrah's chips but if Chuck (who happens to be my contact for Las Vegas new chips) is not able to get me one at our regular agreed upon price, I will understand. I will do without (as I have with the Mandalay snake chips and many of the $25.00 Hard Rock chips) rather than pay a premium.
If he has only 3 as we are assuming for this discussion purposes, I see no reason why he shouldn't just put them on ebay and try to get as much as he can.
Not that I would refuse one if I happen to be lucky enough to be the recipient of one of them. And what happens if a dealers has 4 or 5 people that are all equally good customers. Someone is going to get hurt and the new chip service dealer will take the blunt of the blame.
