Chuck,
People do "one similar and exact thing" different for that is human nature. Surely some people will react differently to a similar situation.
But how one "chip service" does it is how the man behind the service actually do. But it is not easy for the service man to make a decision as to who gets the "last chip".
It depends on so many factors i.e.,economic as will as non-economic factors as "maintianing smooth human relationship", "establishing goodwill", "past relationships", and a host of cultural and social factors any reader can think of.
But for some the there is only one factor - the "economic factor" or as you called it the "wallet" factor". this man behind this service is doing it very simply - straight forward in the "language of business" - who can pay the "right price" get the "last chip".
Some would go to e-bay for a greater circulation,
the market area in e-bay is much much wider. I would venture to guess that there are more people who goes to e-bay to find their chips that private or through the board contact.
There is no end in sight as casinos release few and fewer quantities and I think this will be the trend in the future. I am ready. If I don't get the "last chip" what can I do?
Probably the reader of this post is asking what is my point. The point is which ever way a "service" chooses to go as long as he is honestly telling the truth of the fact: hard to get chip, very few made, the current and market price for the chip and other convincing or not so convincing explanations as to why the "service"is. Is okay with me personally.
The truth of the matter is we are all humans "all too human" as Friedrich Nietzsche wrote.
No matrter how we differ in each other ways as long as we don't loss track of our respect for each other we will be a "happy family" as we chip away into the future.
Thank very much have a nice and a great day. See ya.
