I've been watching all the posts about the Hollywood Park Year of the Horse sets and was wondering how I could get a set (somewhere around face). Sure could have shocked me when my wife told me that she needed to do a business trip (from Las Vegas) to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, her destination in LA was miles from Hollywood Park and I felt that I couldn't impose on her schedule to 'swing by' and pick up a set or two.
Imagine my real surprise when she called and said that she had made a side trip (to pick up merchandise) just a few miles away from the casino. At that point I could not help but ask her to swing by and pick up a set or two!
So I did, and she did to, and yes, they held her to the two plaque limit. And then came the real shock. She called me and announced that she got the two sets and that she would give me one. The other set she was going to keep for herself! One for her? How can that be? I'm the collector. Which is why I say, What hath I wrought?
She was my enabler, now she is my competitor. Unfortunately, she is the better half when it comes to negotiating, ignoring the answer "No" and other similar dealings.
BTW-The limit of two is only imposed on the $8 plaque. The $5 and $2.50 octogon chips are limited to ten each. She maxed out on all limits and said I could have the excess 5's and 2.50's. So I should have a few traders when we get together this weekend in Las Vegas.
