It is difficult to determine whether there is any damage from the bezel or the other side of the chip. It would be worth taking a chance for a few hundred but it would be better if the owner would remove the bezel and scan both sides.
Many old downtown chips were found when workers tore down the wall between The Mint and The Horseshoe. The construction workers filled their lunch boxes with chips & tokens. Managers from all of the casinos would use a building or paving project to get rid of their obsoletes. The Mint wall contained chips from Mint, Four Queens, Golden Nugget, Fremont, Golden Gate & Horseshoe.
There was no evidence of concrete on these chips.
