Let me try and clarify this for you.

"A RR will require that you have 1 $5 LE chip to trade. You put in a chip and take 1? "

You can put in as many as you like, but you must take out an equal amount. If you add 5 then you can take 5 . Sometimes an extra one or two are added for the person who started the RR.

"A Shotgun would require that you have 7 $5 LE chips to participate? (subtracting 1 for yourself)You send one chip to each participant and they each send one to you. In the end you loose 7 chips and gain 7 chips back?"

If it's a 3 chip shotgun and ten people are on the list you must have 27 chips to send out. You are sending to 9 others. You will receive 27 chips in return. You send the chips directly to the people on the list that you will receive.
