I did not find out very much, but here is what I have found so far.
Ciro's was not listed in the 1948 phone directory.
The 1949 directory was missing from the Library.
Ciro's was listed in the Oct. 1950-June 1951. Located on Little Creek Road Telephone # Norfolk-89897. Same listing also found under "Clubs".
The 1952-53 directory also contained the same location and phone number, but Ciro's was not listed under "Clubs".
Ciro's was not listed in the 1954 directory.
I have no information on the shooting/murder. I do have a call into the Norfolk Police Homicide Division. They said to call back on Monday as no one was in today. Aparently murderers take the weekend off in Norfolk, so there is no need for anyone to work Homicide on the weekends . If they are able to provide me with a date, I will research the archives of The Virginian Pilot for the corresponding article.
I will see where that takes me on the search for chips from Ciro's.
