Organizational Meeting
The Organizational Meeting for the Deep South Chip Collectors Club was held at the Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, MS. at 2 P.M. on the 26th of January, 2002. At the Meeting we completed applications for membership, elected officers, decided on dues, wrote our Constitution and By-Laws and generally discussed matters relating to the club and it's business of promoting chips from Mississippi and Louisiana. We also decided to hold our meetings quarterly and to hold an Annual Meeting in conjunction with a Convention.The Convention and Meeting dates and locations were turned over to a Committee for planning. We presently have 34 Members, 4 of whom are Life Members. We are still in the process of obtaining our tax ID number from the IRS. Apparently they are backed up for the Holiday period. The newly elected officers are: President, John Mayercik; Vice President, Russell Bailey; Secretary, Christine Waters; Treasurer, John Trussell. There was a spirited chip trading session immediately following the meeting.
