Probably the same purpose it serves them to send me an "end of auction" e-mail 13 days after the auction has ended, 12 days after I have paid for the auction with Pay Pal, & 7 days after I have received the chip in the mail.

I believe that all of eBay's e-mails are automatically generated & their automation obviously has BIG problems! But, it's still the best game in town, IMHO.
