I agree. Some club wide standard of grading is necessary. Today I had an experience where I wanted to bid on a chip that was closing within 2 hours. The seller described it as in "nice condition." The chip has a "P" TCR rating. As I could not reach the seller before the close, I went ahead and bid chancing that the chip looks as good on the reverse (unshown) side as on the side scanned. Very risky indeed. I don't even know if this seller is a club member but had to assume he is as most of his chips are higher end. If I had a grade to go by that we all went agreed upon, this would not have happened. Also, I think that both sellers and buyers need to get into the habit of using their membership numbers when buying/selling, this too would help to raise my confidence level.
