You also have to worry about what is behind your chips! A couple of years ago we got an 8x10 frame that had about 30 chips in it. They were just laying side by side, on top of ?velvet-I think. There was a date written on the cardboard backing that indicated they'd probably been in the frame for about 10-12 years. There was no fading on the front of the chips, but on the backs of some of them the inlays had turned a yucky brown/yellow color...I assume from the ?velvet they were laying on.
To be safe, I've only framed duplicates that aren't very valuable, and non-Nevada chips (which we don't collect!). They make a nice display, and we won't suffer if anything happens to them!
