Up until a couple of years ago, I had NO interest in chip collecting. My ONE chip was the first Harrahs LE (the sailboat). A long time ago I brought it home because they said it was a collectible, and I fell for it!
A few years back I bought a Jennings slot machine which was originally from the Nevada Club in Reno. THEN, when I saw a Nevada Club chip listed on Ebay, I decided it would be cool to have a "few" chips framed to hang above the slot machine. THEN, I decided that it would be cool to have ALL of the Nevada Club chips. I'm still working on that one, although I'm pretty close. I also enjoy obsolete Tahoe area chips, and somtimes will grab something from other small Nevada towns if it catches my eye. (I, too, have been warned against that "random" kind of collecting!)
My current Nevada Club collection consists of 137 different chips, plus a couple of different tokens and a silver strike. Please feel free to make that number bigger!
Thanks for asking, Travis!
