I keep saying I'll go back some day. It's just that, without the casino flights provided by Casino Express, and they kept working to Wendover after Elko was dropped. Now there's nothing but Amtrak or drive a car. Commercial air does exist, which is basically, find your way to Salt Lake City and fly to Elko. From here, that's (some are pretty funny?) Denver, Atlanta, MN St. Paul, Detroit or LAX. $1,000 a person, and up.

For my money, $300 to fly SLC to EKO, if I could get to Salt Lake City, I'd just drive to Elko. I'm going to need a rental car anyway? 3 hours is nothing. 4 hours from Reno.
