Last December I posted here about the Tuscany casinos' $1 gaming chip, thinking that they offered a new release $1 chip when they reopened table games for the F1 races. At that time, both ChipGuide and The Chip Rack, only listed 1 version of the $1 gaming chip. But as it turned out, there were actually 2 versions of the $1 chip on the newly re-opened table games, and I assumed 1 of the versions was a re-order of the first version, with some minor, typical differences of reorder chips from Bud Jones. (I.e., things like thick and thin inserts, thick and thin dashes and shade differences of the inserts or base color of the re-order chips.
However, since then I have come to find out that the 2 versions of the $1 Bud Jones chips had been there from before the closure of their tables, and apparently, no one noticed the 2 variations until now. The reason I know that both versions existed before they closed down their tables, is because I have a square tube of Tuscany $1 chips that I got (at the casino) before the table games were closed down. Hence, both versions were present back then, and again, just not noticed.
This image shows all 3 versions of $1 Tuscany chips currently in play. The newest version (far right) is made by Nevada Gaming Chip (N) and is very similar in construction to the Bud Jones versions, but is is heavier. (10 g vs. 6g mominally) The N version is not UV active.
