I was there on opening night.
Went at about 2 am when I figured it would be less busy. It was, but my biggest memory was of the place being trashed from the huge crowd. There were empty drink glasses on just about every level surface in the casino. I wondered how long it was going to take to clean them all off, and at how they had enough glassware on hand to not run out!
Didn't get any chips or pictures, wasn't a collector back then.
I wish I felt good enough to go to closing night, it'd be nice to have a 30 year plus bookend event, but I just don't feel up to it.
