When I saw Reggie G's post of chips for sale (a few posts below), there were 2 "Poker Club" or "Poker House" chips from Texas.
A search on the Chip Guide for Texas card room chips reveals a number of these clubs / houses, etc. from all over Texas, beginning in about 2019.
What's the story behind these clubs?
β I assume this is poker only, no other gambling games?
β Liscened and regulated by the state? Was this voted in by the legislature, in response to casinos in adjoining states? Extra tax revenue too?
β Open to the public, i.e. walk in and sit down ... or must be a member first, as in a semi-private club?
βAny zoning restrictions on location (or local ordinances)?
I grew up in Texas, though I've been in California nearly 50 years now. But I can't imagine Texas with legal gambling, even though it's just poker (I assume). I need to catch up with what's changed in the past few years!
