In the Air Force we have a special squadron known as " RED HORSE " which stands for " RAPID ENGINEER DEPLOYABLE HEAVY OPERATIONS REPAIR SQUADRON ". During the Vietnam War these great folks were responsible for building and maintaining AF air bases and facilities in Vietnam and other Southeast Asia countries. They are truly some of the unsung heroes of the Vietnam War.
There is still an active Red Horse Squadron today at Nellis AFB, here in Las Vegas. We always called them the Red Hats. This is one of their great looking logos.
