I think your assumption is correct about only a few will get slabbed.
I think anyone can get them graded and slabbed anytime they wish.
As long as it’s an official grader.
I don’t personally care for it but to each his own.
I don’t know if really a chip that only 1-5 or so exist that one would be worth
more than the other unless they were so differently worn or a chip appears
on one.
Cancelled of course makes a huge difference if there are some uncanceled.
So if people really want to start heading higher end chips so be it.
I like holding them and feeling the edges and visualizing them but if it was
worth $1,000 to $5,000 or even more I guess it would protect it from dropping
and chipping and finger oils and grime ?
