Please don’t take what I am about to say the wrong way as I am just trying to help. Firstly, I would like you to know I have the utmost respect and appreciation for all of the hard work that Doug Smith put into the club raffle program and now you. It is not easy to solicit donations and then sell raffle tickets to raise money from raffling off of those donated items.
1. If you told everyone precisely what the raised money was to actually be used for that may stimulate ticket sales. Example: All monies raised from this years raffle sales will be donated to Tunnels to Towers or to the American Cancer Association.
2. If the monies are to be used for the club exclusively or partially, explain specifically what it will be used for. An example could be we need 50 more display cases for our annual convention.
By just saying it is “To support the club” is vague at best. I personally always wondered what the end game was in terms of raising any funds.
Additionally, I notice you are posting the names of people that purchase raffle tickets followed by “Have you bought yours yet”. I almost get the feeling like you are trying to shame people into buying tickets.
If this is just some sort of gambling game such as powerball or mega bucks then I understand. I know how sensitive everyone is these days so please don’t turn this into an ugly thread, and take it as constructive criticism.
