Just my guess, but I suspect that given all the controversy over who owns the content (submitters or the MOGH or the CCA or whomever is President of the United States or Prime Minister of the UK at the time), we would be hard pressed to find a legal and ethical way to allow access to the entire database by the eBay servers. But I like your out of the box thinking.
