…In 1973, at the tender age of 21. 😃 One of my many trips here to Las Vegas, before I moved here in February 1980. I even stayed there in 1979. I came up for the World 9 Ball ProAm Pool tournament. They also held the tournament in 1980, after I moved here. Both tournaments held in the back of the property, in the Tennis 🎾 Pavilion.

The one photo shows my long time friend, Lorraine Terlinden getting down to shoot, in one of her matches in 1980. Two other good friends, Sherri Sewell in 1979 & Mary Kenniston in 1980, won the women’s division. They also held the World Championship 3 Cushion Billiards tournament there in 1986, which I went to. The one photo shows my framed poster from that event. More recently, over the last few years, the ACS 🎱 held their National Pool Championships there.

The Tropicana opened on April 3rd 1957. The one photo shows what it looked like back then, a lot of open desert 🌵 land surrounding it. It will be closing this coming Tuesday on April 2nd 2024.
