By conducting the meeting(s) in public the Club membership could have an insight into the level of participation of its elected official. It would be interesting and informative to see if the elected board members are actively expressing their opinions and not just rubber-stamping their votes on a topic. I would think that the Club membership would like to see an active board member. Your comment is correct in that officers are elected to serve the organization. We should hold them accountable to determine if they are doing their job in the best interest of the Club.
