Because most nonprofits aren't required does not mean that we have to. I believe we would be better off showing Club members our inner workings rather than having secret meetings. Why take a stance of secrecy when we should and try and be more visible? We have an annual Business meeting which is way too short and not very informative. When I ran the newsletter I informed the Club membership of every item discussed and stated the results including the vote by the Board members.
My campaign statement takes it to the next level. Letting the Club membership look and see would eliminate a lot of dissension down the road. I would speculate it would also help in getting Club members to volunteer and participate. You have some important positions to fill this could also help you. As far as I know, there was nothing too sensitive at the meetings that couldn't be shared.
