I'm a former 15 year member of the CCA. My membership number was 4704. I quit the club in 2015 because of the way my very good friend Sheldon Smith was treated in his quest to remain club Vice-President. When I received the club magazine that come out shortly before that election and saw a full page ad with the names of all BOD members and other "big names" in the hobby endorsing Sheldon's opponent, I was very much put off by that. I had several email exchanges with Doug Smith regarding this. It was my contention that no sitting BOD member should make a public endorsement for any candidate. Let the rank and file members make their decision on who to vote for without any influence from sitting BOD members. Doug and I could not agree on this matter so I decided I was done with the "old boy, cliquish" mentality of the club. I still read the Chip Board everyday and was amused to see this is still going on on in the upcoming Vice-President election.
