Over the years, collectors have donated collectible items to the Museum of Gaming History. Those items go into the MoGH inventory which is stored in a storage locker in Las Vegas. When the items are donated, there is a paper trail of what was donated, in general terms. The donor is given a receipt. For example: a collection of 500 $1 California chips was donated by so and so on this date. Each individual chip is not itemized. Although, at least one collector that I know of did provide a detailed list of every donated item in an excel spreadsheet.

I became the Chair of the MoGH, when the previous Chair, Steve Palumbo, passed away from COVID. Prior to that, I was on the MoGH board, but had no responsibility for the MoGH inventory. And by the way, Jerry Vergatos was also on the MoGH board at that time. So any criticism about the lack of a detailed inventory applies equally to Jerry Vergatos, perhaps more so because he was often in the storage locker and was more familiar with the situation than I. As the new Chair, one of the things that I realized is that there was not a good accounting of what was in the MoGH inventory. For insurance purposes, a detailed inventory and proof of ownership is required when making a claim. We did not have that. And so I started an inventory project. Whenever I am in Las Vegas, which is about once a year for the convention, I make an effort to go to the storage locker and work on the inventory. To get the project started, I went to Las Vegas and spent 3 days working on the inventory at my own expense. I paid for airfare, hotel and everything myself. I created a webpage on the MoGH board website to collect detailed inventory information and store it in a database.

What is the status of the inventory project?

Inventory is stored in boxes on shelves in storage racks and in file cabinet drawers.
Every shelf in every rack and every file cabinet drawer has been labeled.
Every box and file cabinet drawer has been labeled and a general description of its contents has been recorded.
Pictures have been taken of every shelf on every rack and of all the file cabinet drawers.
We know what we have and where it is, at least in general terms.
For example: Drawer #1 in File Cabinet #1 contains several 5 albums of Las Vegas postcards. And we have a picture of the open drawer showing the 5 albums.
What is remaining is to go through each box and each file cabinet drawer and create a detailed list of the contents, photograph them and enter it into the database.
Since there are 100's of boxes and drawers, this will be a long process.
Several volunteers have offered to help based on recent events.
But you can never have too much help on a project like this, more volunteers are needed to get this done in a reasonable amount time.
And by the way, to my knowledge, none of the critics ever volunteered to work on this project.
If they did, let's see the proof.

You have to question why this has suddenly become an issue during the election for CCA VP?
My answer is that the critics don't have much good to say about their candidate, instead the have to knock down others however they can to make their guy look better.
