The recent photo showing N. 2nd st. and the Cinnabar Lounge was really neat. You don't see
many photos of the downtown side streets and the bars that operated there. The Cinnabar
at 112 N. 2nd was open from 1940-48 and 1951-59 according to CW so the photo was probably
taken in 1959. Apparently, it reopened at 111 Ogden from 1959-65 and then was changed to
the Sinabar in 1972-73. I patronized the place in those years but there was no live gaming then.
Slim Ewing once gave me a full box of $25 Sinabar chips so I wonder if there really was gaming
there at all. I remember a large glass panel over the bar (2'x5'?) etched with a scantily clad
maiden and the caption "Bank Club 1937" that I'm pretty came from Reno. Bob Stupak took
over in 1974 and added a full casino. I remember his wife Sandy dealing there and playing
quarter craps. He advertised the place as "The little casino with a big B.R. The photo shown
is the 2nd st. Location. Some of this is conjecture on my part so I'd like any other input.
