Hiya Sam, sounds like you've got a pretty good collection going! Slabbing is a term referring to a process of grading an item. A collectors item like a coin or sports trading card is submitted to a grading company who examines for a fee the condition and legitimacy of the item and renders an opinion in these areas. A grading system adds or subtracts points for features and defects resulting in a grade designation. The item is then encapsulated in a tamper-proof holder commonly called a "slab" and labled with pertinent information. This system is only just appearing in the chip collecting hobby in the last year and the pros and cons of slabbing are open for debate.
