While Bill may have been trying to save a few bucks (I offer 1st class pkg shipping in padded envelope for $6-$7 usually), I was being equally miserly. I had run out of thin cardboard and had a great (99%) success rate sending chips in vinyls taped to the inside of the envelope. I wanted to get this and a few others mailed out instead of waiting to find some backing. I never think to put “non-machinable” on the envelope, even though I’ve seen that on countless packages I’ve received, so that’s a great reminder. For those wanting to know “the rest of the story”, I offered to send him the 25c chip from the same casino but he already had it, so I just refunded him in full. He didn’t ask for it (he was ok with the envelope/stamp shipping), but it’s also not his fault. Anyway, all’s well that ends well.
